HISTORY OF THE ROBBINSVILLE LACROSSE ASSOCIATION

In 2001, the Robbinsville Lacrosse Association was founded.

In March of 2001 the RLA started practices on its then home fields of Mercer County Park (where we would also play our home games).  The RLA's first game took place on a rainy April day of that year at the Penn Valley Elementary School in Levittown, PA vs. Lower Bucks Lacrosse.

We were the ROBBINSVILLE RAIDERS back at that time as Robbinsville High School had not yet been built, and the Ravens did not exist.

Our first RLA board included Neil Brown and John Ciccarone who served as our treasurer.  John is an Allentown resident and currently coaches in Allentown.

In that first season in 2001 the following were RLA coaches:

- Neil Brown
- Michael Langford
- John Bell
- Matt Regulski
- John Ciccarone
- Roc Azzarello
- Gary Witholt

The RLA has assisted in the creation of the programs in Allentown, East Windsor and Hamilton.

Players from the RLA have gone on to play at the following High School:

- Robbinsville
- New Egypt
- Allentown
- Hightstown
- Norte Dame
- Northern Burlington
- Lawrenceville Prep
- Hun
- Peddie
- Princeton Day School

In 2013, we had the first RLA player to be recruited and play D1 lacrosse at Georgetown University - Chris Pauzer.  (RLA 2006-2008).  We believe this is the first of MANY to come!!

In 2005, Mike Langford took over as President of our Association.  Under his tireless leadership, our program saw unprecedented growth and success.  Mike's dedication to the program was never more evident than in 2013 when he remained as the program's President and continued his relentless work for the program - despite the fact that he no longer had sons in the program.

Even now when Mike could choose to walk away and take it easy, he chooses to stay an active member of the RLA board and continues to help this program as a coach and board member.

In 2014, Matthew Coyle took the reigns from Mike Langford as President and remains in the position today.

There is much more to come in terms of documenting the wonderful history of the RLA.  Please check back often to learn more about where we came from.

The RLA continues to make history every day...

If you have more information to share on our history or can share photos, etc..., PLEASE reach out and share!

Thank you!

Go Raiders.... GO RAVENS!
